In a secret recording taken two years before he was killed in Florida, XXXTentacion admitted to “f—king up” his pregnant girlfriend and stabbing eight people, according to a new report.
The late rapper, who was shot dead. in Deerfield Beach, Florida in June, chats with friends about his disturbing life of crime in the chilling 27-minute tape obtained by online music magazine Pitchfork.
“I put my source of happiness in another person, which was a mistake initially, right? But she fell through on every occasion until now. Until I started f—king her up, bro,” said XXXTentancion, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy.
“I started f—king her up because she made one mistake. And from there, the whole cycle went down. Now she’s scared. That girl is scared for her life. Which I understand.”
The 20-year-old doesn’t go into details of the abuse, but he was busted Oct. 8, 2016 on charges of aggravated battery of a pregnant victim, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and witness tampering.
He was awaiting trial in that case when he was shot and killed outside a motorcycle store.
In the recording, the award-winning rapper also discusses a January 2016 stabbing of three people in Deerfield Beach that appeared in the Miami New Times.
“It’s on the f—king New Times. I’m on New Times for stabbing, how many people they put in the news? They said three, it was eight. In Deerfield,” he said. “She’s seen this s—t. She know. So she’s scared. She thinks I’m going to kill her.”
No one had been charged in the stabbing incident, but a Broward County Sheriff’s Office report mentions a witness who “saw an unknown black male with tattoos on his face swinging a knife in multiple directions,” Pitchfork noted.
XXXTentacion also spoke of being haunted by his troubled past.
“You ever seen somebody get their tongue cut out? … You ever seen somebody get raped? … You ever seen somebody try to kill your mom in front of you?” he asks someone in the tape.
“Every night you go to sleep and you remember what you seen and you remember how it felt and you remember that horrible feeling in your soul. Nobody can comfort you. It’s something I gotta deal with.”
Both prosecutors and the defense considered the tape, obtained from the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office, a confession.
XXXTentacion’s criminal cases were closed following his death.
