A New Jersey woman cooked up her own arrest last week - mixing two lines of cocaine into her boyfriend's dinner.
Monica Cookman's lover sensed something wasn't right with the grub after he scarfed down a few mouthfuls and his heart began racing and his throat numbed up, The Associated Press reported.
Cookman, 29, of South Bound Brook, had whipped up the mind-bending meal early last week and fed her unidentified boyfriend the laced leftovers on Friday night, according to the Courier News of Bridgewater, N.J.
The boyfriend wasn't injured - just really miffed over Cookman's risky recipe.
He went to a local police station about 9 p.m. Friday and asked cops to take Cookman out of the kitchen - and slap her with a restraining order.
Police instead summoned her to their headquarters and grilled her - and she eventually copped to being a shady chef, cops said.
She was booked on a raft of charges, including poisoning, aggravated assault and possession of cocaine.
She was jailed Wednesday in lieu of $30,000 bail, The Associated Press reported.
South Bound Brook Police Chief William King told the Courier News the case represented something of a departure from the usual cops-and-robbers cases in the small Garden State town.
"That was a new one for me," King told the paper.
