More information has surfaced regarding the possible release of rapper Gucci Mane, who has been incarcerated in the Fulton County jail in Georgia since April 20th.
Fans thought Gucci Mane was freed from prison on Tuesday (July 5th), when a tweet was sent out from his official Twitter account stating that he would be hosting a “Welcome Home Party” at Atlanta strip club Onyx, which he did not attend because he is still incarcerated.
MTV's RapFix blog spoke to officials earlier in the week, who stated that the rapper would soon be released from prison and transferred to another holding facility.
Now, in the latest chapter of Gucci Mane's quest to become free, the Atlanta Journal–Constitution reports that a hold on Gucci Mane has been canceled by the Georgia Department of Corrections,
But, department spokesman woman Tracy Flanagan said that there is no release date scheduled for Gucci Mane at present time.
Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, is accused of pushing a woman from his a moving vehicle in January.
According to reports, the rapper faces nine different charges including two felonies, that include counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault.
Gucci Mane has been arrested a number of times over the years, for various crimes including assault, drug use, murder and his most recent incident with the woman in Atlanta.
