IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Lady Gaga already has superhero-like costumes, but soon she'll have the comic book to go with it.
The "Poker Face" singer will star in a new comic book series called "Fame," which chronicles the lives of celebrities, according to Usmagazine.com.

The publisher behind the series, Bluewater Productions, is also responsible for the "Female Force" biographical series that includes powerful women like Michelle Obama, Princess Diana and "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling.

The "Fame" series that is set to launch will include other mega-celebrities like Robert Pattinson, Taylor Swift, David Beckham and 50 Cent, reports E! Online.

Surprisingly, on the cover of the first comic book, Lady Gaga appears more normal looking than usual. The graphic drawing features her wearing subdued make-up and a simple purple tube top under a white jacket.

"Fame gives us the ability to tell more interesting stories about a wider variety of notable personalities," Bluewater president Darren G. Davis said in a statement.

Davis said that the company sees this as a way to broaden the scope of comic readers.

"There were many who had never picked up a graphic novel or comic book but buy our biography titles like 'Female Force' and 'Political Power'," Davis said. "'Fame' is the natural extension of that trend."

The first issue in the new series, featuring Lady Gaga, hits stands on May 5.
