A French woman who made a twisted admission that she suffocated eight newborn babies faces charges, along with her husband, for the heinous crimes.
The remains of the bodies were found wrapped in plastic and scattered in two places on property the couple once owned, the BBC reported.
The new homeowners found the bags, filled with just bones, in the garden and garage.
Dominique Cottrez faces voluntary homicide charges, and her husband, Pierre-Marie, could be charged with failure to report a crime.
The couple are in their mid-40s and were detained by police Wednesday. Cottrez said her husband did not know of the pregnancies.
"She explained that she didn't want any more children and that she didn't want to see a doctor to take contraceptives," prosecutor Eric Vaillant said. "She was perfectly conscious of the fact that she was pregnant each time."
The couple have two daughters, both in their 20s.
Two bodies initially were found in the couple’s former home in Villers-au-Tertre, 40 miles north of Lille.
During police questioning, Cottrez then said there were six more bodies on the property.
Cottrez remains in detention and will undergo psychiatric tests, Vaillant said, adding that her husband was freed but will be under judicial watch.
The latest baby-killing admission follows a string of similar cases in France.
One woman in March was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing six newborns. Another Frenchwoman last year was convicted for stuffing her dead babies in the freezer.
