Real men wear skirts.
That's what actor-turned-rocker Jared Leto wrote on his blog last week, where he posted a picture of himself in a black skirt.
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman, though wearing pants underneath the traditionally female garment, was also shirtless, revealing his chiseled abs and defined arms as if to further play up the masculine/feminine juxtaposition.
Leto, 38, hasn't shied away from gender-bending acts before, such as wearing eyeliner (frequently called "guyliner") and sometimes eyeshadow.
He even followed up with another picture Saturday, this time showing both himself and another male friend wearing black skirts with pants.
Leto, who became a teen heartthrob in the mid '90s thanks to the short-lived but much-loved TV series "My So-Called Life," underwent an infamous transformation for the 2007 film "Chapter 27," where he gained 60 pounds to play John Lennon's killer, Mark Chapman.
Now back to his typically thin frame, Leto has been concentrating on his music career, spending much of this year on the Into the Wild Tour to support Mars' third album, "This Is War."
