WOW! MEL GIBSON HAS TO PAY OKSANA $60,000 IN BACK CHILD SUPPORT!

Mel Gibson appeared in court for the first time Wednesday to square off against his baby mama - and got a beatdown.
During an all-day closed court session, the troubled "Braveheart" star was ordered to pay Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva $60,000 in back child support, a source told E! News.

The 54-year-old actor reportedly held off on forking out the dough until he knew if he could deduct $6,000 he already was coughing up for a house where Grigorieva lives with her mom and year-old baby Lucia.

L.A. Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon said no deductions.

Scott also denied Gibson's request for a gag order to prevent all parties - including their lawyers - from discussing the case publicly, Grigorieva's lawyer Martin Garbus said, according to E! News.

"But the judge sealed the depositions," he said.

Gibson's day wasn't a total a total washout, though.

Grigorieva, 40, was hoping to stop him from having overnight visits with Lucia, claiming she was concerned that a nanny was the primary caregiver and Lucia was isolated in her dad's big house.

But Gordon said he would address visitation issues at a later date - possibly next year.

Meanwhile, cops continue to investigate Gibson's claims that Grigorieva tried to extort him after their breakup.

They're also looking into Grigorieva's allegations that Gibson abused her during a fight in January, although she waited months to report the incident.

Potential evidence in that inquiry has been turned over to prosecutors, but no charges have been filed. Gibson's divorce from his wife of 28 years is still pending.

Gibson and Grigorieva are expected back in court Nov. 22.
