First Miley, now all of Hollywood might trash their Twitter accounts.
According to a recent Hollywood Reporter blog post, "there's a growing number of studio deals with new language aimed specifically at curbing usage of social-media outlets by actors, execs and other creatives."
That means no Twitter, no Facebook, or "any other interactive social network or personal blog."
The first alleged victims of the great "tweet" delete according to the Hollywood Reporter are Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers, who have signed on to make another "Shrek" film under the Disney umbrella, the first studio to issue the ban.
It is rumored that DreamWorks has also added such a clause to their talent contracts, though neither studio has confirmed it.
"Hollywood has a long history of controlling what talent says in the media," an entertainment lawyer told the Hollywood Reporter. "This is just a new area of media that hasn't been controlled yet."
Earlier this year, the NFL made a similar move, banning "tweet"ing prior, during and after a game for all players, coaches, referees and present media.
And after Paula Abdul's "tweet," quitting "American Idol" this summer, it's no wonder Hollywood is following is trying to digitally muzzle stars.
