Wiz Khalifa's Romanian Drug Possession Appeal Denied

Wiz Khalifa may be headed to prison after his appeal for drug possession was rejected by a Romanian court The decision comes after the rapper filed to annul his nine-month sentence last month. Wiz (real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz) was arrested by Romanian police in July 2024 after allegedly smoking cannabis during his performance at Beach, Please! Festival. Prosecutors claim that the 38-year-old was in possession of more than 18 grams of the illegal drug. Wiz appeared to have owned up to the incident in a post on X from July 14, where he apologized to the country for "lighting up on stage." "They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time," he continued. Last April, Wiz was initially fined 3,600 lei ($830 USD) for the "illegal possession of dangerous drugs" before it was appealed for a higher sentence. The rapper’s appeal was deemed unfounded and the case is ongoing.
