WHOA NELLY! THE LOOP CLAIMS IT WAS DUPED BY A PHONY BOOKING AGENCY AFTER NELLY WAS A NO SHOW!

A Taiwanese production company that wanted to hire rap star Nelly for a New Year's bash said it was duped by a phony booking agency with a laugh-worthy Web site.
Now The Loop is suing Capital Connections Agency for the $40,000 fee and a quarter of a million bucks in damages because Nelly didn't show.

"CCA is a criminal enterprise," The Loop charged in papers filed Friday in Manhattan Federal Court.

Certainly, the agency broke some laws of grammar.

Its Web site is riddled with typos and outlandish claims like this one: "We are the largest booking agency in the United States and have several offices in Zurich Switzerland."

The company claims it represents every big star from Tiger Woods to Bill Gates - even the Obamas.

Yet The Loop wasn't skeptical when it contracted with CCA to book Nelly for its Dec. 31, 2009, bash - which was promoted on Facebook.

It was only after The Loop had wired cash that CCA's Durby Brandon said Nelly would be a no-show, the suit says.

Brandon allegedly denied getting the cash, then claimed it arrived a day late so he could keep it for breach of contract.

Later, he offered to send Ja Rule as a replacement - a bald lie, since The Loop already had booked him through his real reps, the suit says.
