Wendy Williams is going on hiatus to be with her family after announcing that her mother, Shirley Skinner Williams, died.
Debmar-Mercury, the production company behind her talk show, announced Friday that next week “The Wendy Williams Show” would air repeats to “allow Wendy to travel and be with her family at this time.”
The show will return with new episodes on Jan. 4, 2021.
“Debmar-Mercury extends its deepest condolences to Wendy and her family,” the statement concluded.
Williams, 56, revealed on Monday’s episode that her mother had passed away at home, surrounded by her family. She did not reveal her cause of death but noted that she died “beautifully and peacefully and surrounded by love. She didn’t suffer, thank God.”
“Gone is the best mother, the best girlfriend that a girl could ever have,” Williams said.
