Washington Man Accidentally Shoots Himself While Taking Selfies

A Concrete, Wash., man accidentally shot himself dead Sunday while taking selfies with his girlfriend, police said.

The 43-year-old and his lover were taking pictures of themselves in a home, the Skagit Valley Herald reported Wednesday.

The girlfriend told police the couple had been taking several photos with the gun through the day, with her boyfriend repeatedly loading and unloading it.

Before taking what turned out to be his final photo, he apparently forgot to take out one bullet, police said. Then he fired and shot himself in the face.

The death is being investigated as an accident, police said. The man has not been identified and police did not immediately return requests for comment.

The man is the latest victim of a killer selfie epidemic that is reportedly more deadly than shark attacks.
