VOGUE ITALIA FEATURES PLUS-SIZED MODELS ON JUNE 2011 COVER!

Molto bella!
Vogue Italia is throwing the fashion industry a curve by featuring three plus-sized models in lingerie on its June 2011 cover.

Famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel shot Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine, and Robyn Lawley in black and white in a photograph reminiscent of 1960's Italian cinema.

The Italian fashion magazine's editor Franca Sozzani likes women to have a little meat on their bones.

She recently launched the online only Vogue Curvy back in February, features style tips, trends and praises the beauty of women like UK pop singer Adele, actress Christina Hendricks and the late screen siren Jane Mansfield and who proudly defy a stick-thin mold.

Sozanni has also taken a stand against websites and blogs that she says advocate anorexia.

"I did some research and found that there are countless pro-anorexia websites and blogs that not only support the disorder, but also urge young people to be competitive about their "body shape" Sozzani said, according to the Telegraph.

"Fashion has been always blamed as one of the culprits of anorexia, and our commitment is the proof that fashion is ready to get on the frontline and struggle against the disorder," she said.
