A rabid teen mob swarmed a Tennessee grocery parking lot and attacked people at random, including two young workers who tried to help and were knocked out by Halloween pumpkins, a sickening video shows.
As many as 100 to 125 kids were involved in the brutal attacks outside the Memphis Kroger store Saturday night that may have been part of a "knockout game"-style challenge aimed at injuring innocent people, a witness told local WREG-TV.
So far, one teen — caught on video kicking a young Kroger worker in the head — has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated riot and other counts.
Police didn't identify him, saying only that he was underage.
Cops vowed to hunt down other thugs involved in the attack and were asking for the public's help in bringing them to justice.
"It is extremely troubling to see how many young people were involved, especially on the heels of last week's youth forum," Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong said in a statement.
"A lot of our citizens are working to provide safe and productive alternatives for our youth. For those that choose not to take advantage of these opportunities, we will work tirelessly to identify, locate and hold you accountable," Armstrong said.
Authorities said the mob set upon the parking lot Highland St. and Poplar Ave. store at around 9:15 p.m.
One of the first victims was a 25-year-old shopper walking to his car, police told the station.
A female witness taped the scene with her cellphone.
"All these (expletive) kids, f--king hood rats," she says, laughing.
Moments later, she shouts out, "Hold on, they got a white dude."
As the violence around her escalates, she ducks into a store to avoid the mob.
Seconds later, two young goons are shown savagely kicking a young man in a blue Kroger shirt.
The victim lies on the ground covering his head, while rioters pelt him with large pumpkins.
Eventually, a security guard chases them away.
"Hold on! Oh my god … somebody call somebody!" the camerawoman yells.
Police said two Kroger employees, 17 and 18, were attacked when they tried to help the 25-year-old shopper.
Both were knocked out after rioters heaved 20-pound pumpkins at their heads while they were on the ground, police said.
A friend of the victims told WREG-TV the vicious teens "were playing a game called 'point them out, knock them out'" — a twisted version of the so-called "knockout game" blamed for random street attacks in cities across the country.
"There was no real reason behind it," said the witness, who asked not to be identified.
Describing the attack on his friend, the witness said "They followed hitting him with a pumpkin. He was already unconscious, so all you could see was blood and pumpkins."

Both employees were treated at a local hospital after the attack and later released to their parents, WREG-TV reported. They were said to be recovering at home on Sunday, according to local reports.
