Usher Wins Custody Battle Against Ex-Wife Tameka Foster After Son's 'Near-Death' Pool Accident

An Atlanta judge ruled Friday for R&B singer Usher in his bitter custody battle for custody of his two kids.

The Grammy winner prevailed at an emergency hearing where his ex-wife sought temporary custody of the children following their 5-year-old son’s terrifying pool accident this week.

Usher, after hearing the decision from Fulton County Superior Court Judge John J. Goger, offered hugs all around in the courtroom.

“I just want what’s best for my babies,” he told the Daily News.

Former spouse Tameka Foster Raymond requested the courtroom showdown one day after Usher Raymond V became trapped underwater by a pool drain at his dad’s house.

According to the ex-wife, the little boy “suffered a near-death accident” Monday afternoon when his arm became stuck while unsupervised in the pool at his father’s Atlanta home.

“What a blessing!” she wrote. “Words cannot express the relief and how thankful to God I truly am.”

A contractor working at the house freed the trapped kid and performed life-saving CPR on the boy. Usher V was rushed to the intensive care unit of a nearby hospital for treatment.

While the Grammy-winning Usher issued a Wednesday night statement thanking the people who saved his son’s life, his camp has said nothing about the upcoming hearing.

“I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being,” said Usher, who also served as a judge on the latest season of “The Voice.”

Usher specifically mentioned his Aunt Rena, who was reportedly babysitting the boy when the incident occurred.
