Usher’s Herpes Accuser Sues Insurance Companies

Health records are confidential, even if it’s a part of a scandal involving an R&B superstar. Apparently, no one reminded the health insurance broker or the blog that published “private sensitive health information” of one of Usher’s herpes accusers.

Laura Helm, one of the two women who accused Usher of exposing them to herpes, is suing United Healthcare, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Louisiana and Golden Rule Insurance company along with the unnamed blog for outing her medical records, reports TMZ. She’s also suing the site for defamation.

Helm’s suit says the broker she filed the insurance application with took screenshots of her application and gave it to the blog.

She initially filed a $20 million suit against Usher after she claimed he gave her the STD after unprotected sex in April 2017. Helm was overheard on a recorded phone call with her former publicist verifying the two always used condoms during sex, and the case was dropped.
