Usher Posts First Photo Of Newborn Daughter Sovereign

He posted a photo of himself kissing the infant to Instagram Wednesday, captioned, “Happy 11:11 Sovereign … today was the day I thought you would arrive. You had a different plan … #Babyknowsbest #Godsplan ‘Life happens when you’re making other plans.’ Is the present a gift or is the present the day? Live every moment. I love what we have, and what made @boogsneffect Te amo mucho.”

Last month, the 42-year-old singer announced Sovereign’s arrival, writing on Instagram, “We are feeling blessed and full of love with the arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Sovereign Bo Raymond. ‘Isn’t She lovely’ by Stevie Wonder on repeat”

On Wednesday, the “Yeah!” singer shared the same photo during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in which he revealed she was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her wrists.

Usher also joked that his mother insists that all her grandchildren be given their own room in her house which means that Sovereign is taking over her father’s bedroom.

“She’s kicking me out,” he said with a laugh. “I’m sleeping on the couch and Sovereign, she now has my old bedroom. It’s cool.”

Sovereign is Usher’s first child with music executive Jenn Goicoechea. He also has two sons, Naviyd Ely, 11, and Usher V,12 with ex-wife Tameka Foster.
