IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

It’s taken 14 years, but Tyrese Gibson has finally reunited with a cherished lover from his past.

The actor teased he'll once again play an onscreen love interest of Taraji P. Henson when he guest stars on "Empire" this fall.

The two actors starred as a fiery young couple in the 2001 rom-com, "Baby Boy."

"I'm coming to get my girl back," joked Friday during an appearance on the "Wendy Williams Show." "All them dudes on there kissing on my girl '… I'm kinda done with seeing all that."

Gibson and Henson have never dated off the screen, but he said she's not entirely in the "friends zone."

"That's my baby. We always get together for lunches and dinners and connect," he told the New York Daily News in March. "I'm always at her house, she's at my house. It's love. I'm very, very honored to tell the world we're still family and we still connected and hang out beyond that 'Baby Boy' set."

Gibson joins a long list of guest stars appearing on Season 2 of the Fox drama, which became an instant hit last year.

The all-star line-up includes big names such as Pitbull, Maria Tomei, Lenny Kravitz, Mariah Carey, Ludacris, Al Sharpton, Kelly Rowland, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Andre Leon Talley, Ne-Yo and Swizz Beatz.

“Empire,”created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, features Terrence Howard, as music mogul Lucious Lyon grappling for power over his holdings with his ex-wife, Cookie.
