Someone should tell Tyga money can’t buy love.
The rapper — and recently broken-hearted ex of Kylie Jenner — thinks he has enough clout to sell a $1,200 jacket at Saks Fifth Avenue.
He and designer Marcelo Burlon collabarated on several clothing items ranging from $285 to $1285, while some of Burlon’s designs cost as much as $1,800.
T-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets that are part of the Burlon X Tyga collaboration feature images of, well, tigers.
But it’s unclear why that would drive up the price.
The $1,245 jacket is a smooth bomber with embroidered designs of a tiger head and bamboo on the back.
A regular ol’ hoodie by Tyga is selling for $550 on Saks.com — and Refinery29 reports that the whole collection is selling out fast.
Still, why?
Tyga’s reply: “It’s an art, you know?”
"You're selling the dream. And it's like, 'What is someone willing to pay for this art?' I justify the price with what I feel my worth is,” he told Refinery 29.
“It's like, 'Yo, do you love me that much? Do you understand my art that much that you're willing to pay?'"
It seems some people do love him that much — although it’s not the younger Jenner sister.
Maybe Tyga’s hoping to make a killing on his clothing line to make up for the loot he dished out on that Ferarri he bought Kylie.
The “Rack City” singer isn’t the first artist to sell clothes somewhat designed by themselves for exorbitant amounts of cash.
Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 1 line featured jackets more than $3,000, sweaters around $1,500 and plain crewneck sweaters for a measily $545.
The introduction of his clothing came just after he gave a speech at Oxford.
“Clothing should be like food,” he said. “There should never be a $5,000 sweater.”
Okay, Kanye — but $3,000 is fine?
