Tyga earns his highest-charting tune in more than three years on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as “Taste,” featuring Offset, darts 13-9 on the July 28-dated list. He last ranked as high with “Ayo,” a collaboration with Chris Brown, which reached No. 7 in April 2015.
In total, “Taste” secures Tyga’s sixth career top 10 hit on the chart. Offset, meanwhile, collects his second top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and ties for his best rank: “Ric Flair Drip,” with Metro Boomin, also reached No. 9 in March.
For “Taste,” radio airplay continues its favorable momentum. The song hits the top 10 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, with its 14-10 ascent spurred by a 32 percent surge to 16 million in audience in the week ending July 22, according to Nielsen Music. The move secures Tyga’s sixth top 10 on the list and Offset’s first.
“Taste” also crosses the top 10 barrier on three other rankings: the airplay, sales and streaming-blending Hot Rap Songs chart (12-8), the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart (15-10) and Rap Airplay (12-8). Beyond its airplay increases, “Taste” also hikes 12-8 on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, picking up 27.8 million clicks in the week ending July 19, per Nielsen Music, a gain of 5 percent.
Digital downloads, too, rise, with a 13 percent boost to 14,000 in the week ending July 20. The lift pushes “Taste” 9-7 on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales.
