Two people were shot Saturday at a North Carolina party for rappers Young Jeezy and T.I., police said.
Shots rang out inside Label, a popular nightclub in Charlotte, about 7:00 p.m., cops said.
The hot spot was hosting a party featuring Young Jeezy, T.I. and Yo Gotti celebrating the CIAA college basketball tournament. USA Today reported that all three rappers were on stage at the time of the shooting.
Emergency responders rushed a woman with a gunshot wound to Carolinas Medical Center, police said, while another victim went to the same hospital by private means.
Neither victim suffered life-threatening wounds, officials said.
A party featuring P. Diddy had been set to begin at the club at 10 p.m.
Numerous clubgoers posted cellphone videos on social media showing panicked patrons rushing to get out of the club in the aftermath of the shooting.
In December, a felony weapon charge against Young Jeezy was dismissed due to lack of evidence.
The platinum-selling rapper had been arrested along with five other people on Aug. 24 when cops executing a search warrant at the Verizon Amphitheatre in Irvine, Cal. found an AK-47. Police were there to probe the fatal shooting of Eric Johnson, 38, backstage at a concert Jeezy co-headlined with Wiz Khalifia two days earlier at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountan View.
Johnson’s killing has not been solved but on Feb. 3 Mountain View police released a sketch of a suspect, which they said was created after witnesses provided new information.
