Tony Rock has opened up about not being cast in many of brother Chris Rock’s movies. The comic recently appeared on the Green Room podcast alongside comedian Aries Spears. The conversation found its way to Tony’s brother, Chris, with Spears asking him why he hasn’t appeared in more of Rock’s films. The younger brother got candid about his experience of working with his bro in the industry, saying, “I am going to try to explain to you guys. I am not saying it is going to make sense, but my brother—he’s a businessman when it comes to movies,” adding that Chris would tend to go with bigger names in an effort to “sell” the movie to a wider audience. This, he could understand. However, the All of Us actor also recalled feeling “crushed” that he was not featured in Rock’s film Top 5 after his brother invited him to be a part of the flick, but failed to follow-up. After hearing word of the film going into production from friends on-set, Tony realized that his brother forgot all about his offer. “Two months in, I get a f**king phone call that says ‘Yo, you at the wrap party? We here.’ That sh*t crushed me. I have never seen the movie Top 5.” Tony added that he didn’t ask for the part because he’s asked Chris “for five favors my whole life. He said ‘no’ every time, and I swore on everything I loved I would never ask him for anything for as long as I live.”
