TONI BRAXTON BLAMES HER 2 BANKRUPTCY'S ON HEALTH PROBLEMS!

Stars' financial troubles are often blamed on lavish lifestyles, but Toni Braxton is revealing there's something far more serious behind her money problems.

The singer filed for bankruptcy last fall – the second time in 12 years – with debts reportedly owed to companies including AT&T, Tiffany & Co. and Neiman Marcus.

"It wasn't about cutting back," Braxton told "Entertainment Tonight." "It was about a business bankruptcy more than anything, because I was doing my show in Vegas and I was forced to cancel my show because of my illness and all of my other concerts after that."

Braxton has been open in the past about suffering from lupus and heart disease, among other health issues.

"I have good days and bad days …" she said. "If you ever see me a little chunky it's because of all the steroids, all the shots and things and my medications."

The 43-year-old also appeared on "The Wendy Williams Show" Monday, where she discussed how her health and money troubles intersected.

"The first [bankruptcy] was business. But because I secured everything personally, I had to file," she said. "That's what happened. People don't understand that bankruptcy is for protection."

Braxton fans can get a glimpse at some of her struggles, including the up-and-down relationships she shares with her sisters, on the new reality series "Braxton Family Values," which premiered Tuesday on the WE network.
