Tom Cruise has mastered the art of espionage on screen, and now, he's being sued for spying in real life.
Court documents obtained by TMZ.com reveal that magazine editor Michael Davis Sapir is suing Cruise for $5 million dollars, accusing the actor, attorney Bert Fields and private investigator Anthony Pellicano of wiretapping his phone.
It is not the first lawsuit between Cruise and Sapir.
In 2001, Cruise sued Sapir for $100 million after the editor falsely stated he had a video of the 47-year-old "Mission Impossible" star "engaged in a homosexual relationship."
The suit was settled later that year, with both parties acknowledging that the tape did not exist.
Now, Sapir says Cruise and his legal team used illegal means to monitor Sapir's telephone during the 2001 case.
In response to the accusations, Bert Fields told TMZ, "The allegations are absolute garbage. We did not even hire Pellicano to work on the Sapir case."
