The members of TLC are ready for their Broadway moment.
In an interview with Cheddar to promote an upcoming concert tour with Nelly and Flo Rida, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas revealed that she and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins are working on bringing their story to the stage.
“We’re also working on the TLC musical and TLC on Broadway,” she said. “We’re going to create new music for those projects as well.”
As TLC is already the subject of a TV movie, Chilli assured fans that this won’t just be a retread of stories they’ve already heard.
“We didn’t tell everything,” she said. “We have so many stories to tell. We didn’t tell it all in our biopic we did with VH1. A lot of good stuff. It’s gonna be very emotional but a good ride.”
She added, “I’m very excited that. I almost can’t believe it. I’m like, ‘What!’”
Originally a trio, TLC has been a duo since the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in 2002.
In 2017, TLC released their self-titled fifth album. It was supposed to be their final album, but afterward, they announced they would continue to perform and make music together.
