THOSE DIRTY BOYS IN BLUE! COPS ACCUSED OF STEALING GUNS FROM A PRECINCT!

The NYPD is investigating whether cops angry that they were forced to work weekends got revenge by swiping guns from a lieutenant's office, sources said Monday.

Internal Affairs Bureau investigators descended on the 103rd Precinct stationhouse in Jamaica, Queens, on Saturday night after Lt. Charles Minch reported his service pistol was missing from his locker, the sources said.

A search showed someone also stole the service weapon of a police officer assigned to work with the lieutenant, the sources said.

"If it was a prank, it's a stupid one - grand larceny," a police source said.

Both weapons were inside lockers in Minch's special operations office - not the regular locker room.

The lieutenant and the officer told the IAB they remember using combination locks to secure the lockers, and locking the office door when they left.

The office was empty for only two hours.

Minch said when he arrived Saturday, the door was locked, but the combination locks were dangling open on the lockers. They had not been clipped, sources said.

Minch, a 12-year veteran, recently disbanded the precinct's public schools detail, which meant some cops suddenly had to work weekends.

"That created some other disciplinary problems," a source said.

Officers who worked Saturday were questioned, and the IAB labeled the lieutenant's office a crime scene, sources said.

"Hopefully, it's not some cops angry about working weekends," a source said.
