Snooki may end up in a trash can once a month, but it was the "Jersey Shore" star's book that got trashed last night on "The Late Show with David Letterman" -- by its author!

The pint-sized reality star visited the CBS show Monday night to present the Top 10 Reasons to Buy the New Snooki Book, "A Shore Thing."

Wearing a silky, fluorescent-pink dress, Snooki joked that if you watched her MTV show, "your standards can't be too high" and that if buyers showed her their receipt, she would "grind with you at any nightclub of your choice."

The 23-year-old even took aim at some of her own castmates.

"It's so good, Pauly D wants to learn to read," she quipped, adding that J-Woww gave the book "5 wowws."

Tongue not-so-firmly in cheek, Snooki said the number one reason for reading her book was that it is "the finest work of literature ever written by an author named Snooki."

At the end of her segment, Letterman gave the self-described guidette a bouquet of flowers, and it appeared all was forgiven after he claimed earlier on in the show that Snooki's dumpster diving made her a bad role mdoel.

Snooki's self-deprecating diss comes as a surprise after she and J-Woww made a parody video slamming “View" host Joy Behar for denigrating the reality star's novel on her HLN talk show last week.
