IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

Lady Gaga had everyone buzzing when she arrived at the Grammy Awards in her intergalactic planetary-orbit-style dress, complete with its own star accessory, designed by Armani. The show-stopping outfit, paired with her bright yellow hair and heavy makeup, seemed to defy being labeled one of the night's best or worst looks simply because it was so uniquely Gaga.
Giorgio Armani said in a statement that he felt inspired by the superstar's pop culture takeover when he designed her one-of-a-kind look. "We hear Lady Gaga's music everywhere we go," Armani told UsMagazine.com. "It is like a soundtrack of our times. In addition to her formidable songwriting skills, she is a modern fashion phenomenon. I am delighted to be creating these outfits on such an important night for her, the Grammys, and I wish her the best of luck."

Gaga, who later took the stage in an over-the top teal-blue leotard and then sat in the audience dressed in a Statue of Liberty-inspired headpiece, said that the collaboration between her and the iconic Italian designer was a perfect fit for the Grammys.

"I am honored to be wearing Armani this evening," she said in a statement. "The series of pieces Mr. Armani created for me are truly iconic; they represent not only beautiful fashion, but my spirit and essence as an artist. Mr. Armani is a fashion legend, and tonight would not have been the same without his touch, and his wonderful team."
