THE UNDERWORLD FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS WITH BIG NAMES IN HIP-HOP!

The Urbanworld Film Festival is back - for its 15th anniversary, no less - and the next two days will bring a typical mix of high-profile premieres and thoughtful debuts.

Friday night's pick may be Mario Van Peebles' "All Things Fall Apart." 50 Cent, who co-wrote and co-produced, stars as a college running back with increasingly shaky NFL dreams.

A sneak peek at HBO's comedy series "How to Make It in America," co-produced by Mark Wahlberg, will offer the season's first two episodes. Victor Rasuk and Bryan Greenberg play New Yorkers hoping to succeed in the city's cutthroat fashion industry. Luis Guzman, Lake Bell and Kid Cudi co-star.

Today's documentaries also feature familiar faces. "I Want My Name Back" focuses on Sugarhill Gang members Master Gee and Wonder Mike as they plan a comeback. "Zero Percent," about young men working on college degrees in jail, includes interviews with Ice-T, Harry Belafonte and Warren Buffett. And Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington and Phylicia Rashad appear in "The Start of Dreams," about teens in a New York theater competition.

The latter is also screening tomorrow, along with the doc "Planet Rock: The Story of Hip-Hop and the Crack Generation." Executive producer Ice-T called in some help: Snoop Dogg, RZA, Raekwon, Questlove, Chuck D and others show up to weigh in on the drug epidemics of the '80s and '90s.

Zoe Kravitz and Gabourey Sidibe star in "Yelling to the Sky," a drama featuring Kravitz as a neglected Queens teen facing drastically different paths. The festival will close tomorrow night with "Kinyarwanda," which finds much-needed moments of charity and survival in its somber subject, the Rwandan genocide.

All screenings will be at the AMC 34th Street. For schedules and tickets, visit urbanworld.org.
