WESTCHESTER, NY - The LOX have been honored with a once-in-a-lifetime accolade in their home state of New York. On Saturday (December 16) the legendary Yonkers rap trio — comprised of Styles P, and Jadakiss and Sheek Louch — performed at the Westchester County Center. The concert was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their debut album Money, Power & Respect, as well as Hip Hop’s 50th birthday. In the spirit of the countless Hip Hop 50 celebrations that have happened this year, The LOX were presented with a congressional proclamation by Congressman Jamaal Bowman during the show. It is an incredible honor as the Congressman for NY-16 to recognize the brilliant career of Yonkers own The LOX with a congressional proclamation,” wrote Bowman on Instagram alongside a video clip showing the rappers accepting their framed decrees.“Hip Hop helped raise me and the artistry of the LOX was part of that upbringing. Shout out to Yonkers, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, the rest of 914, and the Bronx for their contributions to Hip Hop and beyond!”Congressman Bowman wasn’t the only special guest. The LOX’s concert also saw performances from fellow Yonkers legend Mary J. Blige, as well as Fabolous, Freeway, Young Gunz and Lil Cease.
