Bernard Kerik pleaded guilty Thursday to lying to the White House, becoming the first NYPD Commissioner in city history to admit he's a felon.
Kerik stood with head bowed in White Plains federal court, working his way through admitting to eight charges that will also include theft of honest services and tax evasion.
With his corruption trial set to begin next week, Kerik worked out a last-minute plea deal in which prosecutors dropped the most serious charges - mail and wire fraud - and agreed to recommend prison time of 27 to 33 months.
The former top cop admitted that he submitted false statements to the White House after President Bush nominated him to be Secretary of Homeland Security.
