The Discovery Channel has shelved plans to air a TV special featuring a re-enactment of Michael Jackson's autopsy, according to TMZ.com.
The network opted to call off the program, scheduled to run in the United Kingdom only, after receiving fierce objections from the executors of Jackson's estate.
"Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Michael Jackson's estate, the scheduled broadcast of the medical documentary related to Michael Jackson's official autopsy has been postponed indefinitely," a Discovery Channel rep told the gossip site.
When executors John Branca and John McClain learned of the planned show, they sent an angry letter accusing the Discovery Channel of operating in "shockingly bad taste...motivated solely by your blind desire to exploit Michael's death."
