Cops gunned down a drug suspect in the Bronx early Wednesday - the second police shooting there in less than a week.
Officers swarmed an SUV in the Concourse section, cornering two suspected drug dealers who fled after being snagged in an undercover buy-and-bust operation.
Three shots were fired by cops, and one bullet struck one of the men in the right shoulder.
"I heard three pops," said Garry Reigle, 48, who was unloading deliveries near the shooting. "He kept saying: 'I'm shot!'"
The wounded man, who was not identified, was taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, police said. His condition was unknown.
The other suspect, the driver of the silver Jeep Liberty SUV, was tackled by cops.
"I didn't do nothing!" the driver said, according to Reigle.
"Some heavyset officer came and sat on him," Reigle added.
It was unclear if the men were armed or had any drugs on them. Charges against the men were pending.
The mayhem erupted about 12:30 a.m. when armed cops surrounded the SUV at E. 167th St. and Gerard Ave. They identified themselves as police officers before pulling the trigger, Reigle said.
"They yelled at them to stick their hands up," said Reigle, of Snyertown, Pa., who was unloading food at a nearby fast food joint.
"At first we thought they were talking to us. I let go of my cart and went like this," Reigle added, lifting his hands in the air. "I don't want to get shot."
After the suspect was hit, cops dragged him out of the vehicle.
"He was trying to lift his right shoulder off the ground," Reigle said.
The shooting is the second time in less than a week that officers opened fire on a suspect in the Bronx.
Jesus Roldan, 48, was shot and critically wounded early Saturday in Morrisania after the ex-con turned on cops with a .380 handgun. A plainclothes officer shot Roldan three times.
He was in critical condition at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center.
