Pole dance all you want, Miley. Daddy says it’s okay. Billy Ray Cyrus doesn’t think his 16-year-old daughter’s provocative dance during a performance at the Teen Choice Awards this month is a big deal.

"I just think that Miley loves entertaining people," he tells Access Hollywood of the swirl around a pole attached to an ice cream truck. "She loves singing [and] songwriting.”

As for what others may think about the dirty dance, who cares, says dad. “I always tell her to love what you're doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinions,” Cyrus says.

The laid-back dad adds that Miley is just expressing herself. "I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice,” Cyrus tells Us Magazine. “I think it's important.”
