Taylor Swift And Kendrick Lamar Lead In Grammy Nominations

Taylor Swift’s wildest dreams have come true.

The pop star dominated the major categories for the 58th annual Grammy Awards, scoring nods for Album, Song and Record of the Year — but her pal Kendrick Lamar is the leading nominee with 11 nominations.

Swift's “1989” and Lamar's “To Pimp a Butterfly” will both vie for Album of the Year along with The Weeknd (“Beauty Behind the Madness”), Alabama Shakes (“Sound & Color”) and Chris Stapleton ("Traveller").

The 25-year-old earned seven nominations overall, including nods for Record and Song of the Year for “Blank Space.” Going up against “Blank Space” in both categories is Ed Sheeran for "Thinking Out Loud."

The other nominees for Record of the Year are Mark Ronson (ft. Bruno Mars) for “Uptown Funk,” The Weekend for “Can't Feel My Face” and D'Angelo and The Vanguard for “Really Love.”

As for Song of the Year, the category that honors songwriters, Kendrick Lamar's “Alright,” Little Big Town's “Girl Crush” and Wiz Khalifa's “See You Again” also earned nods.

Meghan Trainor heads up the list of nominees in the Best New Artist category. The pop star received a nod along with country star Sam Hunt, pop singer Tori Kelly, Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett and British singer-songwriter James Bay.

And for those expecting an epic battle between Swift and Adele for Grammy glory, it wasn’t meant to be: The “Hello” singer’s new album “25” was released two months after the deadline for consideration for the 2016 Grammys.

As for which artists received the most nods, Lamar's double-digit tally was followed by Swift and The Weeknd with seven nominations, Drake with five nods and Alabama Shakes, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West all earning four nods.
