The fallout from a deadly shooting last year at an East Village concert venue continued Tuesday when federal authorities formally hit a hip-hop personality with a weapons possession charge.
Daryl Campbell, better known as Taxstone, was arrested Monday after DNA evidence connected him to a fatal shooting at a T.I. concert last May at Irving Plaza that ended in the death of bodyguard Ronald McPhatter.
McPhatter was at the club protecting rapper Troy Ave, who is accused of attempted murder in the shooting. Troy Ave, whose real name is Roland Collins, was shot in the leg.
According To Complex
Taxstone appeared in court on Tuesday, where he reportedly posted $500,000 bail to be released. While details are still scarce, DNA Info is reporting that investigators found traces of Tax's DNA on the gun in question. Tax has yet to release a statement on the matter.
