Taraji P. Henson Plays Cookie On SNL's "Sesame Street"

Taraji P. Henson proudly declared she "made it" while hosting "Saturday Night Live" for the first time.

"This is so nice," she said on April 11. "It proves that after 20 years in show business white people finally know who I am."

The 44-year-old actress was all smiles on the "SNL" stage during her monologue as she spoke to the live audience.

"A lot of you are just getting to know me as Cookie on 'Empire,'" she said as the audience cheered about her hit FOX series, which just wrapped its first season in March. "Real talk. This role changed my life."

Cookie was prepared to change some lives of her own when she paid a visit to Sesame Street on "SNL."

"Cookie's being a real monster," the narrator said with the lovable blue Sesame Street character asking, "Who, me?"

"No, me," the fabulous Ms. Lyons said as she made her entrance.

She proceeded to try and bring order to Sesame Street by interjecting whenever she felt she was needed.

When Ernie asked Burt if he could trade an apple for half of his pal's sandwich, Cookie was quick to jump to Burt's defense.

"No, Burt, he's trying to play you," she said pointing at Ernie.

Cookie then claimed Big Bird from Snuffaluffagus.

"Remember Snuffy, I knew this bird first," she said.

When Snuffaluffagus suggested they all get along, Cookie leaned forward and whispered, "Snuffy you need to stop rapping like you from them streets, 'cause you not about that life."

She continued wreaking havoc on Sesame Street as she ate all of the Cookie Monster's cookie without sharing, was spotted wearing a bright red Elmo-esque coat after Elmo went missing, and was figuring out a way to market the Muppets as they sang the loveable PBS show's theme song.

"Ya'll are freaks," the ex-wife of hip hop mogul Lucious Lyons said. "That's good, I can market that!"
