SZA And Keke Palmer Set To Star In New Issa Rae-Produced Comedy Film

Issa Rae has added some surefire power to her next movie. SZA and Keke Palmer have been added to Rae’s new buddy comedy film. The film will be produced by Issa’s HOORAE media company under TriStar Pictures. Rap Sh*t’s Lawrence Lamont has been tapped to direct the unnamed film. Lamont is known for directing a slew of music videos for some of the biggest stars in music. He has previously worked with J. Cole, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Kanye West, Nas, and more. Additionally, Lawrence Lamont’s video for Big Sean’s “IDFWU” snagged him a Video of the Year award from BETSony Pictures’ CoCre lab was responsible for getting the project together. After seeing them together on Saturday Night Live, they were interested in exploring SZA and Plamer’s chemistry. Issa’s new movie will serve as the TDE singer’s acting debut. The outlet reports that the SOS musician had been sifting through possible scripts and opportunities. However, when she came across Rae’s movie with Keke attached, she knew the project was too good to pass up.
