SWV and Xscape concluded their highly anticipated Queens of R&B Tour on Sunday (Aug. 18) at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.Supported by Mýa, Kima and Keisha of Total, and 702, the 30-city run came to a successful end. Co-produced by Mona Scott-Young’s Monami Entertainment and Live Nation, the tour was first announced on Sherri on Monday (March 25) and followed their drama-filled Queens Of R&B reality show. To announce this HERstorical tour during Women’s History Month means everything,” said Scott-Young in a statement of the tour at the time. “It speaks to the power of our ability as women to overcome adversity and emerge triumphant. 702, Total, Mýa, SWV, and Xscape have all weathered storms and are still here and better than ever! We are so excited to bring the fans an incredible and undeniable performance experience that truly celebrates R&B music. The show as a whole opened with Kandi’s new group, PsiRyn, and the OMG Girlz, who reunited earlier this year. Throughout the night, fans were on their feet as a slew of surprise guests popped out for the tour’s final night. There was an official Bad Boys artist reunion and some of the veteran performers gave their offspring a chance in the spotlight. Da Brat came through during Total‘s set to perform their collab, “No One Else.” The 1995 record was the most popular track from the former trio’s self-titled debut album. It peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. fans were thrilled to see Total bring out Ma$e to perform “What You Want.” The Harlem-bred rapper looked and sounded amazing plus it was delightful to see them all in high spirits. 112 and Total don’t have any records together. Yet as Keisha and Kima took a quick break, Slim and Mike — the remaining members of the former quartet — came out and did a quick rendition of “Peaches & Cream.” The ladies rejoined the men for the latter half of the song, but the special appearance proved that 112 is still a timeless treasure.
