Swizz Beatz Says His Son Is Too Cool To Wear His Clothes

Swizz Beatz took some time out from hitting the decks for his upcoming beat battle with Timbaland to attend the Kith show on Thursday night.

“Me and Timbaland are working on the date right now,” said the rapper and music producer who’s married to Alicia Keys. “But we’re definitely with the smoke and I’m gonna definitely teach him a lesson. I’m practicing every day, even in the car.”

Beatz, who sat in the front row near the Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony, Tommy Hilfiger and Hilfiger’s wife, Dee, applauded when hoops stars Scottie Pippen and LeBron James strolled the runway. James, who recently announced a collab with the brand, even busted a few moves.

“I think Scottie came out with epic swag and you knew he was having fun and I think LeBron James supporting the brand was pretty cool,” Beatz said. “It’s showtime and it’s New York City, baby!”

As for his own fashion sense, the ultra-stylish hip-hop artist is into Jerry Lorenzo, Virgil Abloh’s Off-White, Bally and “a lot of up-and-coming brands that are taking the risk and not following with their team.”

Even so, his wardrobe isn’t cool enough for his teenager to steal. “My older son [Prince Nasir], who’s 16, won’t even wear my clothes, he’s so fashionable!”
