Sweden Wants To Keep A$AP Rocky Detained For Extra Week

A$AP Rocky is not a free man — yet.

The Stockholm District Court has granted the prosecutor’s request to extend the 30-year-old “F—ckin’ Problems” rapper’s jail time at the Kronoberg Detention Center in Stockholm because of the “flight risk,” Page Six has learned. He has until 11 a.m. local time July 25 to indict Rocky.

“We have worked intensively with the investigation and need more time, until Thursday next week in order to complete the preliminary investigation,” Senior Public Prosecutor Daniel Suneson said in a press release Friday.

The Swedish Prosecution Authority said the time extension also applies to Rocky’s two other friends, who are also under investigation for assault following a June 30 street fight in the country.

We’re told the local men involved in the incident are still imprisoned and the time extension applies to them, too.

Rocky’s alleged attackers, whose identity has not been revealed, were previously under investigation for molestation and assault, but the Swedish Prosecution Authority clarified in an exclusive statement to Page Six on Friday that those charges have since changed.

“The present suspicion of crimes are now abuse, assault and attempted assault,” a spokesperson said. “The attempted assault is a new suspicion of crime.” The rep clarified that “abuse” in this case pertains to harassment.

In the press release, the Swedish Prosecution Authority pointed out that Suneson was recently put in charge of the investigation “due to the summer holidays period,” which may have been the reason for the delays in the proceedings.

Although Rocky will be detained for at least six more days, prosecutors said decisions in this matter will take place “no later” than July 25. However, hearings for this case have not yet been scheduled, according to the District Court.

Rocky’s Swedish attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.

The rapper began his initial two-week sentence on July 5. His manager, John Ehmann, launched a Change.org petition to help release Rocky earlier due to alleged “inhumane conditions” at the Swedish prison where he is being held.

However, the governor of the Kronoberg Detention Center denied the allegations and told us exclusively that the facility had undergone “a large reconstruction” and that the prison was in “good conditions.”

Meanwhile, in the US, celebrities spoke out in support of Rocky. Page Six confirmed that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were “very concerned” for the rapper and lobbied the White House in hopes that President Trump would help win an earlier release.
