An emotional new full-length trailer for the highly anticipated summer blockbuster "Man of Steel" shows Clark Kent coming of age as Superman.
The three-minute clip, released by Warner Bros. Tuesday, also gives fans a glimpse of Amy Adams as Lois Lane as well as the villain, General Zod, played by Michael Shannon.
The trailer first shows the high-tech planet of Krypton and Superman's dad, Jor-El played by Russell Crowe, before he sends his baby off to Earth.
"Our hopes and dreams travel with you," Jor-El tells his infant son, Kal-El.
The film will show Cavill's character growing up and realizing he's different from other children.
He is seen talking to his adoptive father, played by Kevin Costner, who tells the young Kent, "You are the answer, son ... I have to believe you were sent here for a reason and even if it takes the rest of your life, you owe it to yourself to find out what that reason is."
The trailer continues to show action-packed scenes of Superman flying through the sky, run-ins with Zod and, as the famous comic book's history often deems, Superman and Lane’s romantic chemistry.
"What does the 'S' stand for?" Lane ask after Superman has been arrested, referring to the large letter on his costume. "In my world it means hope," he answers, smiling.
"Well, here, it's an 'S,' she coyly responds.
"Man of Steel," directed by Zack Snyder and written by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer, hits theaters June 14.
