Steve Harvey Hosting Miss Universe Again After Last Year's Fu*k Up

Fresh off one of the ugliest moments in beauty pageant history, Steve Harvey gets his shot at redemption.

The comedian is set to host next month's Miss Universe 2016 — one year after he accidently announced the wrong winner at the annual contest's 2015 show.

The ceremony is tapped for Jan. 29 in the Philippines, the home country of last year's eventual victor Pia Wurtzbach.

Harvey's return is something of a surprise, considering the emotional rollercoaster he put the two finalists on last year. Then again, ratings figure to be through the roof.

Harvey occupies an infamous place in the pageant's 64-year history thanks to his unforgettable slip-up, which saw him originally declare Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez the winner on national TV before returning to the stage moments later to admit he'd made an error.

"OK folks. I have to apologize," he told the crowd. "The first runner-up is Colombia. Miss Universe 2015 is Philippines."

Reigning title-holder Paulina Vega then literally lifted the crown off Gutierrez's head and placed it upon the stunned Wurtzbach.

Harvey attributed the crushing blunder to wrongly reading the cue card that deemed Gutierrez the runner-up. He ultimately took complete blame for the incident.

The following month, Harvey brought both Wurtzbach and Gutierrez on separate episodes of his daytime chat fest "The Steve Harvey Show" to apologize in person.

He even broke down in tears while offering his mea culpa to Gutierrez, who forgave him.

Harvey will be joined at the pageant by model Ashley Graham, who will serve as the backstage host.
