Spike Lee Honored With The 34th American Cinematheque Award

Academy award winning film maker Spike Lee was honored with the 34th annual Cinematheque Award during a virtual ceremony.

Lee’s peers including Angela Bassett, Ryan Coogler, Jodie Foster, Norm Lewis and longtime collaborator Rosie Perez appeared in video clips sharing stories about working with Lee through the years.

Foster, who moderated the virtual ceremony, opened the evening with an intimate one-on-one conversation with Lee.

Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods” cast presented him with the award, and he vowed to forever make films during his acceptance speech.

“Let’s keep it going,” he said.
