South African Preacher Tells Parishioners To Eat Grass To Get Closer To God

A South African preacher told his congregation to eat grass in order to be closer to God.

Lesego Daniel even posted pictures of his followers online to show them carrying out his command.

Social media users said his order was "crazy".

Daniel's previous commands to his flock allegedly include kicking his congregation and trying to heal one woman from a "demonic" pregnancy, reported the Daily Mirror.

However his followers were adamant that eating grass was the right thing to do.

"Yes, we eat grass and we're proud of it because it demonstrates that, with God's power, we can do anything," Law student Rosemary Phetha said, according to the Daily Mirror.

She said eating grass had helped heal a sore throat.

Another, Doreen Kgatle, helped her walk again following a stroke.

"I could not walk but son after eating the grasses the pastor ordered, I started gaining strength and an hour later I could walk again."
