No wonder Justin Bieber's a big-time brat spewing racist jokes — he’s “mentored” by a world-class liar.
Confidenti@l heard chatter about the now-infamous video — in which the Biebs tells a racist joke with a pathetic punch line — last year and reached out to Scooter Braun, Bieber’s manager, for clarification.
Braun first denied the tape’s existence, then went on to explain that there were Bieber impostors everywhere trying to make a buck. He then threatened to destroy us and “buy the paper” if we ran our story without solid proof.
Lo and behold, the exact tape we’d heard about finally surfaced over the weekend. Bieber has since released a statement saying he has “learned from (his) mistakes” and explains the video was made when he was "reckless and immature” five years ago.
“As a kid, I didn’t understand the power of certain words and how they can hurt. I thought it was OK to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but didn’t realize at the time that it wasn’t funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance. ... I’m very sorry,” he said.
