SNOOP THROWS OUT THE FIRST PITCH AT A WHITE SOX GAME FOR DOG DAY!

If you are going to celebrate "Dog Day" you can't do it without "Tha Doggfather."

You also apparently can't get through a ceremonial first pitch without a Tim Tebow reference nowadays.

Rapper Snoop Dogg stopped by U.S. Cellular Field to throw out the first pitch before the White Sox 11-8 victory over the Twins as part of a promotion where fans were permitted to bring their dogs to the park.

Snoop put a high arching toss over the dish to Sox pitcher Chris Sale and then, while playing to the crowd, he dropeed to a knee and 'Tebowed' walking off the field - possibly paying homage to the new New York Jets quarterback, but more likely just looking for a laugh.

The rap legend's sports fanaticism is well documented in both basketball and football - he is a huge Lakers and Raiders fan - but is admittedly inexperienced in baseball.

Despite the lack of baseball background, the lanky rapper avoided the embarrassing fate of former Olympian Carl Lewis, Wizards guard John Wall, Cincinnati mayor Mark Mallory and singer Mariah Carey - who perhaps have thrown the four worst first pitches in history.

"Oh man, that was special," Snoop told Fox after the first pitch. "It was a strike. It was a change-up, screwball. It was one of my pitches that I normally don't really go into, but we are in the Windy City so I had to make sure it got over the plate the right way."

Snoop was on his way to a concert, which explains why he was in the Chicago area.

But his post-pitch antics that included a Hulk Hogan pose and Tebowing went unexplained.

Eh, probably better off that way.
