Snoop Dogg Criticizes LGBTQ Representation In Kids' Movies

Snoop Dogg said his grandson's questions about a lesbian relationship in the Pixar movie Lightyear "threw [him] for a loop" because he didn't know how to explain how two women could have a child. The Doggfather, 53, appeared on the It's Giving podcast and spoke about his marriage, parenting, and masculinity. Around the 31-minute mark of the video below, Snoop described watching the 2022 Pixar movie Lightyear with his grandson. The rap legend said he was thrown off when his grandson asked how the movie's female protagonist, Alisha Hawthorne, had a child with her wife. "Why my grandson in the middle of the movie like, 'Papa Snoop, how she have a baby with a woman? She a woman,'" Snoop said He's the grandfather to seven children, including grandsons 10-year-old Zion Kalvin Broadus and 4-year-old Sky Love Broadus. “I didn’t come here for this shit," Snoop continued. "I just came to watch the goddamn movie. "While the film doesn't explicitly state how Hawthorne and her wife have a child, women in same-sex partnerships can get pregnant via artificial insemination or in vitro fertilization with the help of sperm donations. Snoop said in the moment, he told his grandson to "shh" and eat his popcorn because he didn't know how to explain the situation.
