Smokey Robinson and his attorney, Christopher Frost, have made a formal statement regarding the sexual assault accusations and subsequent lawsuit filed from four of his past female employees According to a statement shared Frost was “responding on behalf of our clients Smokey and Frances Robinson,” noting that “the evidence will show that this is simply an ugly method of trying to extract money from an 85-year-old American icon $50 million dollars, to be exact. He has denied the “vile, false” allegations. He briefly spoke on the lawsuit with The Daily Mail saying that he was “appalled” by it. Frost shared, “Through this process we have seen the bizarre theatrics of yesterday’s news conference, as the plaintiffs’ attorneys outlined vile, false allegations against Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, trying to enlist the public as an unwitting participant in the media circus they are trying to create. He added that he intends to “fiercely defend” Robinson and his wife “against these false allegations.” Frost also revealed his plans to file a motion to dismiss the Jane Does‘ lawsuit and address “numerous aspects of the complaint that defy credulity as well as issues relating to purported timelines, inconsistencies and relationships between the plaintiffs and others.
