SHOOTING VICTIM IN BROOKLYN DIES IN A UPS TRUCK!

The mother of a Brooklyn man murdered by a hot-headed driver said Wednesday "it was not road rage," but an execution carried out by an old friend.
A despondent Lydia Blas told the Daily News the childhood friend "threatened" her son Ramon earlier Tuesday, the day of the murder.

Standing outside her 7th-floor walkup in Williamsburg, Blas, 61, said the old pal has vanished.

"No one will talk because all of Ramons friends are also this guy's friends," she said.

Adding to the tragedy, Blas was about to become a father, a young woman who identified herself as his girlfriend told The News.

"I was going to marry Ramon," said the woman, who asked not to be identified. "We were going to spend the rest of our lives together. Now Ramon is gone."

Blas, 39, did time for robbery and was on parole until 2012 when he was shot dead on Election Day, not far from failed mayoral candidate William Thompson's campaign office in Williamsburg.

Hiram Silva, a close friend of the 39-year-old shooting victim, conceded Blas "had his share of enemies."
"But to shoot him? That's not right," said Silva.

Detectives are still looking for the shooter, who took off in a green Nissan Maxima and left Blas - who tried to escape by jumping into a UPS delivery truck - to die.

Blas lived in Long Island City, Queens, and lost his brother, Robert Mara, 33, to gunfire in 2001. He was sitting in a gray BMW SUV on Tuesday when he began arguing with the shooter, witnesses said.

"It started as road rage," Thompson volunteer Juan Beltran told The News on Tuesday.

At one point, it appeared Blas may have dared the shooter into firing.

Blas then hit the gas, but the gunman caught up to him and fired into his SUV, striking the parolee in the left side of his body, cops said.

Blas' car smashed into a parked car on Ten Eyck St. In a desperate bid to escape, he clambered inside the nearby delivery truck. It was there, amid the packages, that Blas died.
